Traditionally children have helped with cooking and baking and seem to love doing so. There are so many things they can do, even little tots can be given easy tasks.

There is a huge array of children's baking equipment, cute little aprons etc which can be purchased to make the experience easier for little hands and also more fun.

I was encouraged to join in with 'baking day' from a young age and I also had my own set of baking utensils which I was pleased to receive one Christmas.

Unfortunately kids aren't usually so keen on clearing up and have a tendency to make a lot of mess...never mind, the results will hopefully be worth the extra work!

Most primary schools have fetes and bake sales where they hope the parents will provide cakes for fund raising, there are several recipes suitable for such an occasion.

Some of the recipes will require some adult supervision. Also please be aware that the popcorn can be a choking hazard for small children.
