Try making this chocolate trifle recipe at Christmas instead of the traditional sherry trifle.
To make this recipe you will need ;
INGREDIENTS
Chocolate swiss roll
Black cherry jelly
Tin black cherry pie filling
300ml/10fl oz whipping cream
1 pint milk
2tbsp cornflour
1tbsp cocoa powder
2tbsp sugar
Grated chocolate to decorate
METHOD
Cut the swiss roll into 8 slices and lay in a large glass bowl.
Pour the pie filling over the swiss roll slices.
Make up the jelly as directed and pour over the sponge and fruit.
Chill in the fridge until set.
Mix the cornflour, sugar and cocoa powder in a jug with a little of the milk.
Add the rest of the milk and stir.
Pour into a saucepan and bring to the boil stirring continuously.
When thickened leave the custard to cool then pour it on the trifle.
Cover with clingfilm and chill in the fridge until required.
Before serving whisk up the cream, spread on the top of the trifle and decorate with grated chocolate.
