Chocolate Cups

chocolate cups

This recipe for chocolate cups was taken from a 1942 issue of Women's Weekly. The combination of traditional ingredients make for a delicious, quick and easy dessert which can be eaten hot or chilled from the fridge!

To make this recipe you will need ;

INGREDIENTS

A large tin of evaporated milk (410g)

2oz/60g/5 level tbsps semolina (not ready made)

2 level tbsps golden caster sugar

1-2 level tbsps cocoa powder (according to taste)

A few drops vanilla extract

METHOD

Pour the evaporated milk into a measuring jug and make up to a pint with water.

Pour a little into a large saucepan along with the semolina, sugar, cocoa and vanilla and stir into a smooth paste.

Gradually pour the rest of the evaporated milk into the pan stirring all the time and bringing to the boil.

Simmer gently for about 10 minutes stirring to avoid a skin forming.

Pour into tea cups and dust with a little cocoa powder and serve while hot.

If you prefer a chilled dessert allow to cool before placing in the fridge to chill.

Enjoy your chocolate cups!
