An easy recipe for chocolate and marshmallow squares.

INGREDIENTS

200g/7oz plain chocolate

150g/5oz chocolate chip cookies, broken up

50g/2oz butter

2tbsp golden syrup

100g/3.5oz glace cherries

200g/7oz marshmallows, chopped (use kitchen scissors)

METHOD

Grease and line a large shallow baking tin.

Melt the chocolate, butter and syrup in a bowl over a pan of simmering water (with adult supervision), and leave to cool.

Put the biscuits, cherries and half the marshmallows in a large bowl and mix well.

Pour the chocolate mixture over the ingredients in the large bowl and stir until everything is evenly coated.

Pour this mixture into the baking tray and spread evenly.

Scatter the rest of the marshmallows over the top.

Chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours until set.

Turn out onto a board and cut into squares.

Store in an airtight container.
